New Client Information

Initial Session

When getting started you will meet with your therapist for a one hour initial session. This introductory session will allow the therapist to get a full clinical picture of what is bringing you to therapy and individualize care based on your specific needs.

Families & Teens

Two initial sessions will be completed for adolescents and families so that your therapist can meet with the teen and guardians individually. From there, collaborative goals will be set and agreed upon in order to have a clear direction for treatment.

What Will We Talk About?

Starting therapy might feel a little daunting. Don’t worry, you won’t have to do anything but be yourself. This session is for you and your therapist to get to know each other. Your therapist will ask you some questions to get a better understanding about your reasons for seeking therapy, and assess what would be most helpful for you.

Weekly Sessions

At Pacific Coast Therapy we ask that all new clients meet with their therapist every week for a minimum of one month. This insures a complete understanding of your goals and needs throughout therapy, while also laying the foundation for trust and openness.

Out-of-Network

We are considered “out-of-network” with insurance companies. This enables us to deliver a higher quality of care, with individualized attention, and complete confidentiality.

Many insurance companies provide reimbursement for out-of-network therapy. We gladly provide a “superbill” which can be used to submit to your insurance and seek potential reimbursement for sessions.

Good Faith Estimates

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
